In Melbourne, all 9 sub-regions saw a substantial increase in auction volumes when compared to both the previous quarter and this quarter last year.

The Inner region was the busiest spot for auctions over the quarter (2,614), followed by the Inner South (1,865), and the North East (1,725).

The Mornington Peninsula was the best performer in terms of clearance rates (80.0 per cent), followed by the Outer East (79.2 per cent) and the North East (76.1 per cent).

Overall, Melbourne’s clearance rate was recorded at 73.3 per cent over the June quarter, down from 77.5 per cent over the previous quarter.

In terms of auction volumes, there were 13,693 homes taken to auction across the city over the 3 months to June, up from 9,065 over the March quarter and 5,369 over the June 2020 quarter.
